About Me

My name is Bradley Birch, I have pursued both a BSc and MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Dedicating my academic journey entirely to understanding the psychological factors that influence performance and well-being. My MSc thesis explored decision-making and coping strategies in the extreme context of climbing 8,000-meter-plus (25,000+ft) mountains. This research provided invaluable insights into how individuals make critical decisions and manage stress in life-and-death situations.

Through this process, I developed a deep understanding of the mental frameworks and strategies required to navigate high-pressure environments, which are just as relevant in competitive sports as they are in everyday life. The ability to remain calm, focused, and resilient under intense pressure is a transferable skill that can elevate performance in any domain, and I am passionate about helping others cultivate these capabilities.

I’m just passionate about sport psychology. My journey in sports began as a licensed amateur boxer, where I gained invaluable experience competing in the ring. Boxing taught me discipline, resilience, and the ability to remain composed under pressure—qualities that have deeply shaped my understanding of the mental aspects of performance.

To deepen my knowledge and turn my passion into a career, I pursued academic training in sport and exercise psychology. I hold a BSc in Applied Sport Psychology and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology, Which have provided me with a strong foundation in psychological theory and evidence-based techniques to enhance performance and well-being in athletes.

In recent years, I’ve embraced endurance sports, competing regularly in Olympic-distance triathlons since 2022. Training and competing in triathlons has reinforced the importance of mental toughness, goal-setting, and adaptability, particularly when balancing the demands of swimming, cycling, and running in physically / emotionally demanding environments.

Since 2025, I have been working as a Sport Psychologist in Training across variety of sports; Rugby, Football, Endurance sport, Boxing / MMA.
